The dedication of the new Church

"Behold, I build an house to the name of the Lord my God, to dedicate it to him..." 2 Chronicles 2 :4

Another busy 2 weeks have flown by here in Magdalena. The Tremont Bible Class work team arrived on Saturday March 21 for the final week before the dedication of the new Church. After services on Sunday we enjoyed getting to know the team and hiking in the mountains behind CVE.

Monday morning started the last week of preparation for the Church dedication. The team was busy finishing up the lighting, carpet, doors, bathrooms and lots of details in the new building.

Getting ready for a busy week with stretches and devotions.

The week flew by with Friday coming way to soon. The team worked until mid morning and left in the early afternoon. From that point we (the staff, church members, friends and visitors) were on our own to finish things up. The board Members arrived for the weekend and we ate at MoMo's on Friday evening. After supper we joined the kids in the Sunday School assembly room to sing. They were so excited to stay up late and enjoy the new Church. We had been expecting the delivery of the chairs for the assembly and dining rooms to arrive all evening. Around 9:30 or so the truck arrived with 450 very dusty chairs. Many hands made the work go fast and we got them all unloaded into the parking lot. Then it was off to bed for the kids and home for us.

A lot of very dirty chairs.

Randy and Cindy Schmidgal were on their way down from Tucson for the weekend and arrived around 11:30. After a quick hello and a drink we headed to bed for a short night. We ate breakfast at CVE and then went out to the Church for a big day of finishing things up.

For those of you who have visited here in the past I am sure you remember the routine of changing the dining room into the assembly room for the service and then back to a dining room when the service was over. It is such a blessing and so much less disruptive to just move from one room to the other. We are so thankful for all the work teams and individuals who have come and labored to make this all possible but most of all we thank our Great God.

"But who is able to build Him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Him?" 2 Chronicles 2:6

We know it is not the physical building that makes a Church but the people who attend it and we know our God is so great that no walls can contain him but still we are thankful for a beautiful new building to gather in.

Sunday Morning.
