Yes, We are still here.

I started this blog just after Christmas and just never got back to it. We have been blessed with many visitors, work teams and family since then so this may get a little long.

We had a busy December here in Magdalena as we prepared for the Christmas season. It's been a long tradition in Susie's family to act out the Nativity on Christmas Eve and we were able to do it for the first time here in Magdalena. Susie's sister Karen and her family came for the Holidays and brought all of the Knapp Nativity outfits. Kali was the director and Karen and Susie helped outfit the kids. It was a big hit both with the kids and those who gathered to watch.

During Christmas break we climbed Mt. Magdalena for the first time. It was a good half day trip after a 40 minute drive. It doesn't look that far from CVE but the distance is deceiving.

This picture was taken at the cliff face which isn't all the way to the top. The white dots at the Y of the roads (which you may not be able to see) are the vans we drove to the trail head.

We celebrated Kali's birthday on January 5th and she got the traditional "face in the cake" treatment. Her little brother Nate doing the honors.

My Mom and Dad arrived on January 6 and we spent a few days in Albuquerque visiting Dad's cousins Ron and Georgia. We spent a day in the mountains where Nate got his snow "fix" before heading back to Mexico.

While Mom and Dad were visiting we had work teams from Forrest, Cissina Park and Peoria. We worked on the house, the fence around the property and a few other things. It was a busy three weeks of hard work.

We had several welders in the Cissna group and got the beams and purlins all welded in the new house. Thursday night we had a wind storm and found the center wall of the house on the floor on Friday morning. We spent the morning before the team left bracing the walls in the mud.

After three weeks of work teams we had a week to relax and get ready for the next team. We spent an afternoon at the local nursing home singing and playing bingo.

We said goodbye to Mom and Dad on the morning of February 6th at the Tucson airport. We spent the rest of the day running errands and were back at the airport at 6pm to pick up the work team from Congerville and Eureka, but that will have to wait until the next post. (hopefully soon)
